After being ranked for pretty much every week for 4 straight years the past eight weeks have been odd. Purdue has received votes int he AP Poll each of the last 8 weeks, but the slow start to the season saw Purdue on the outside of the top 25 until this week. With a good road win over Ohio State and a home win over No. 6 Michigan State we have returned to the top 25 for the first time since November 26:
- Tennessee (48) 1,575
- Duke (12) 1,527
- Virginia (4) 1,473
- Gonzaga 1,382
- Michigan 1,381
- Michigan State 1,235
- Kentucky 1,226
- Nevada 1,158
- North Carolina 1,065
- Marquette 973
- Kansas 972
- Virginia Tech 858
- Houston 795
- Villanova 734
- Louisville 658
- Texas Tech 561
- Purdue 532
- Buffalo 468
- LSU 435
- Iowa State 327
- Maryland 280
- Mississippi State 236
- North Carolina State 203
- Wisconsin 179
- Florida State 141
The win over Michigan State gives Purdue three wins over current top 25 teams, while Iowa, Nebraska, and Minnesota also received votes this week. It won’t be easy finishing the season strong, but Purdue is definitely trending up.
