Purdue Basketball: Joe Lunardi’s Bracketology.

Purdue continues to rise.

NCAA Basketball: Indiana at Purdue Sandra Dukes-USA TODAY Sports

After early season struggles in non conference play, where we lost close games on the road.

After people continuing to say CMP is a bad basketball coach.

After playing 4 freshman in rotation 2 sophomores and graduating 4 seniors, Coach Painter has this team playing together.

The defense has been much better. There is a post presence now and we just beat our in-state “rival” like a drum at home.

Last week, Joe Lunardi had Purdue as a 6 Seed, the week before an 8 seed, before that a 10.

We continue to climb, this week Joe has our Boilermakers as a 5 seed and we would be one hell of a dangerous 5 seed in the NCAA tournament. He has us playing the winner of a play in game of Arizona State or Florida, neither team really scares me either.

Then, we would play Houston or Liberty in the round of 32. Making a smooth path to another Sweet 16 Appearance. Where we could see Tennessee, as a 1 seed, the 1 seed I would want to play.

Things are looking up in West Lafayette, Purdue has won 6 of the last 7 games and the defense is playing great and there are more options on offense now, other than Carsen Edwards. If we keep playing well, we may end up being higher than a 5 seed. But for now, we are hot and continuing to climb.

Next up? Ohio State tonight at 7 PM on BTN! Boiler Up!
