With the men’s basketball season starting just two months from today we have the final piece of schedule information we were missing: The TV Networks and tipoff times. The Big Ten announced those today and we know this: Purdue will appear on the Big Ten Network 13 times, on the ESPN family of networks eight times, the FOX family four times, on CBS twice and BTN Plus twice. Two games, vs. Ball State on Nov. 10, and at Texas on Dec. 9, are yet to be announced. Texas and the Big 12 contol the rights to that game. As for Ball State, expect a BTN variant. (Ed. Note: The Texas game has been announced as 6pm on ESPN2)
That’s a nice stage for Carsen Edwards and his National Player of the Year campaign. We also have unfinished business in coming up a rebound short of our 24th Big Ten title.

- November 6 vs. Fairfield - 7pm, BTN+ (Yes, get your complaining in now about having to get BTN’s pay service. the November 1 exhibition vs. Marian will also be on BTN, but the secret scrimmage vs. West Virginia will not be televised because YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT SECRET SCRIMMAGE).

The Big Ten Tournament is back where it belongs in the Midwest at the United Center beginning March 13, though the season can be considered a complete disaster if we are one of four teams playing that day. More likely we will start play on March 14 or 15. All but the semifinals and final will be on BTN. Those three games will be on CBS.
