Caleb Swanigan was the best commitment that Matt Painter has gotten in his time at Purdue. He was also a major reason that Purdue got today’s player in our basketball countdown.

2018-19 Projection: Contributor at Power Forward
Williams is going to remind us a lot of Biggie, but that doesn’t mean we can expect automatic double-doubles from day one. Williams was a 4-star commitment that was rated 128th nationally according to Rivals and was a 4-star according to ESPN. As a senior in high school last year he averaged an impressive 20 points and 21 rebounds for Henry Ford Academy. His team went 14-8 and was a district champion before losing int he first round of regionals. In his time there he was a 1,000 point scorer and a rebounding machine.
A broken foot late in his junior season limited his exposure over the summer, and it also led to him gaining a bit of weight. His Rivals recruiting profile listed him at 6’9”, 290 pounds. He has been working on transforming his body over the summer. His Purdue profile lists him at 6’9”, 275 pounds.
We can think of him as a mini-Swanigan with his rebounding ability, and he looks up to Caleb. He is not the outside shooter Caleb is, but as a space eating forward he can be a force on the low block and on the glass.
