Today we have a receiver that I honestly expected to play last season, but he did not.
Tyler Hamilton - Fr. (RS)
Hilton Head, SC (Hilton Head HS)
5’9”, 175 pounds
Wide Receiver
2018 Projection: Reserve at Wide Receiver
Purdue didn’t get too many 4-star commitments under Darrell Hazell, but Hamilton was the exception. Purdue was recruiting him under Hazell and he actually committed on November 23, 2016 after hazell was fired and before Brohm was hired. He was a 3-star prospect by every service but was a 4-star receiver according to ESPN.
Because of that, I really thought he would play in Brohm year one. We needed receivers and we got him ahead of Ohio, Missouri, and Arizona as teams we played last season. he had 45 career touchdowns in high school (a school record). His senior year he was all over the place with 634 yards rushing and 5 TDs, 32 receptions for 610 yards and 5 TDs, and 2 kickoff retuns for TDs.
Unfortunately, he seems to have slipped down the depth chart a bit. Rondale Moore is a similar type of player that has already passed him. Coaches have been quiet about him this whole time, but hopefully he emerges as a threat soon.
