The New England Patriots certainly love Purdue guys. Gene Mruczkowski, Brandon Gorin, Matt Light, Niko Koutouvides, Rosevelt Colvin, and Rob Ninkovich all played in Super Bowls for the Patriots. Since the Pats are always a threat to return to the Super Bowl it is handy they have yet another Boiler on the roster in rooke Ja’Whaun Bentley.
He is already making plays, too. Tonight he had fumble recovery returned for a touchdown off of reigning Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles.
Strip sack! Recovery!

This is a great start for Bentley. He impressed last week in his preseason debut and tonight so far he already has five tackles and a pass breakup to go with his fumble recovery for a score. Patriots fans are already raving about him as well.
But of course they are. He is a Purdue player on their roster, and they have never won a Supeer Bowl without a Boiler on the roster.
Oh, and he is not the only former Boiler having a great night in the pros. Kevin Plawecki had four hits as the Mets blasted the Phillies 24-4. This was after a Grand Slam last night against Baltimore.
