It has taken a little time, but we’re finally ready for the second episode of Let’s Get Weird Sports. Paul Banks and I originally recorded this episode last week, but since I am a horrible audio engineer (despite having a degree in MEDIA PRODUCTION), the sound did not record well. So we called in our resident Doctor. Doctor Juan served as podcast producer last night as we re-recorded the Let’s Get Weird Sports podcast on Shoeless Joe Jackson.
And it is so much more than the Black Sox scandal, too. We have all sorts of fun details about the man, including:
- Child labor in a mill.
- Running off to be a vaudeville actor.
- Crippling poverty.
- Cheap baseball owners.
- A hilariously cheap owner leading to a fix of the 1919 World Series.
So yes, this is a bit of a cheap knock-off Dollop, but it was a lot of fun to record, anyway. Enjoy!
