Was today’s player one of the most hidden players of last season? He was a true freshman that earned playing time, but he didn’t have a huge imapct. Hopefully he will going forward.

Keyron Catlett - So.

Hopkinsville, KY (Christian County HS)

5’11”, 185 pounds

Wide Receiver

2018 Projection: Contributor at Wide Receiver

Purdue played a few true freshmen last season, but one of the least heralded was Catlett. He earned a spot as a wide receiver but did not catch a pass all year. Still, he played in seven of the 13 games. He did touch the ball a few times, too. He ended up returning five kicks for 62 yards.

As a senior in high school with Kenneth Major and Cory Trice two years ago Catlett caught 53 passes for 856 yards and five scores. Those are the kind of numbers that show he can make a big impact going forward.
