College Football Sept. 1 Open Thread

Purdue has already played this week, but the rest of the country is still going.

It is a little nice to not have a huge rooting interest on the first full Saturday of college football, but the bitter taste of Thursday’s loss still stings. It unfortunately sets Purdue way back in the divisional race already, but Wisconsin is still the heavy favorite. The goal is still a bowl game, and we’re capable of 7-8 wins still. The rest of the league is in action today after Wisconsin and Michigan State (barely) won last night. Here is your full schedule, with the three non-conference teams Purdue plays also on there (Eastern Michigan beat Monmouth last night):

Oregon State (0-0) at No. 5 Ohio State (0-0) Noon, ABC

No. 23 Texas (0-0) vs. Maryland (0-0) Noon, FoxSports 1

Kent State (0-0) at Illinois (0-0) Noon, BTN

Texas State (0-0) at Rutgers (0-0) Noon, BTN

Appalachian State (0-0) at No. 10 Penn State (0-0) 3:30pm, BTN

Northern Illinois (0-0) at Iowa (0-0) 3:30pm, BTN
