After a short sting with the Bears as an undrafted free agent, it appears that T.J. McCollum will be headed back to West Lafayette - this time as a coach.
Former #Purdue linebacker T.J. McCollum is joining Jeff Brohm's staff as a graduate assistant.

McCollum finished with 69 total tackles and three sacks in nine games for the Boilermakers last season (also played at UAB and WKU). pic.twitter.com/VCgU4Ufjv6
T.J. was named a graduate assistant yesterday, giving Purdue a former player that knows this system to now help and coach it. T.J. played under Coach Brohm and Coach Holt as a linebacker at Purdue and at Western Kentucky.
I am going to assume he will be helping with the linebackers, being an assistant to Nick Holt, where he can learn from one of the best in NCAA Football.
I wish that his professional career would have taken off, but this is not a bad second option. Being able to learn from this great staff and the chance of being maintained if he does a great job over the next couple of seasons as a GA.
I want to wish T.J. the best of luck with this new career change! Boiler Up!
