The success of the “Hard Knocks” series on NFL training camps and “Last Chance U.” appears to be beleeding over to Big Ten Network. this fall BTN will have its own Hard Knocks style series, and the first team it will feature is Purdue:

At B1G Media Days on Tuesday, Big Ten Network and FOX Sports President Mark Silverman announced that BTN would be launching a new show this fall titled “Gold and Black Days,” a documentary following Purdue through training camp.

The show is set to debut on August 14 and will run for four weeks.

This is a great time for this to feature Purdue. We’re coming off of a turnaround season, but there is plenty of training camp drama to focus on. you have David Blough vs. Elijah Sindelar. You have a young defense that needs to be rebuilt. You have a four-headed running back monster with D.J. Knox, Markell Jones, Tario Fuller, and Richie Worship.

Most of all, this is free recruiting porn for new prospects in 2019 and beyond when Brohm already has our best recruiting class in well over a decade. It is a win for all parties involved, and we’ll be watching (as long as we don’t have Comcast).
