It is always good to see a walk-on make it to the field regardless of position. Today we have a long-time member of the team that finally saw some action last year.

Myles Homan - Jr.

Cincinnati, OH (St. Xavier HS)

6’1”, 210 pounds

Kicker

2018 Projection: possible kickoff specialist

Homan has put in a lot of hard work behind the scenes trying to break in at a spot where most teams have just one guy. If that guy is a scholarship player, it is even harder to see the field. As a walk-on kicker with not one, but two scholarship guys ahead of him it is even harder to find playing time.

Homan did it last season though. He found the field as a kickoff specialist for four games. All told, he kicked off six times and had three touchbacks. Eventually Spencer Evans took over the position full time, but Homan did a solid job in limited action.

With Evans in his final season Homan may not see much playing time this year, but next season he could be a kickoff specialist as a senior. We could even see him go in for a token extra point in a blowout.
