2018 Projection: Potential Starter at Defensive Tackle
If you have paid much attention to this series you know we need defensive tackles. Graduation and the departure of Eddy Wilson has left Purdue quite thin up front. That’s where Watts comes in. He certainly has hte size to play at this position. He also brings a modicum of experience to the spot. He played in 9 games as a reserve last year and had a single tackle at MIssouri.
Sure, it is not much, but when you’re as thin as we are you take what you can get. Watts is gioing to have every chance to earn a starting spot. If he can surprise and fill that role he will be a key player for another two years since he is only a sophomore.
