We’re really stretching for football-like substance and news here, but this afternoon Purdue announced its three participants at Big Ten Football Media Days:
Peoud to have these guys representing us in Chicago next week! #BoilerUp #LetsPlayFootball@david_blough10 @mb_boiler21 @ElijahSindelar pic.twitter.com/swon5wpbWK

It’s pretty standard practice to have the best defensive player, a quarterback, and one more player go to represent a school. Purdue is sending both quarterbacks, as David Blough and Elijah Sindelar are expected to battle once again for the starting job. Markus Bailey is not a surprise, as he is one of the best linebackers in the Big Ten.
Blough represented Purdue last season and even gave the student athlete speech at the luncheon to much fanfare. We don’t know who is starting, but if Sindelar gets the nod in the season opener against Northwestern it finally ends the streak of consecutive season opening games with a different quarterback:
2008: Curtis Painter
2009: Joey Elliott
2010: Robert Marve
2011: Caleb TerBush
2012: Robert Marve
2013: Rob Henry
2014: Danny Etling
2015: Austin Appleby
2016: David Blough
2017: Elijah Sindelar
