Purdue has only played Appalachian State once, beating them 79-65 in Mackey Arena on December 2, 2000. The game will be played at 5pm on November 15th.
Purdue’s second game will come against Wichita State or Davidson. Purdue last played Davidson when they had some guy named Steph Curry, beating 76-58 them during the 2008-09 season. Purdue is 4-2 all-time against Wichita State, but the two have not played since 1989 when Purdue won 62-54 in Wichita.
The final game would likely come against Alabama or Virginia Tech, who are favored in their respective openers. Purdue beat Viriginia Tech in overtime in Blacksburg in the 2010 ACC/Big Ten Challenge, while it lost to Alabama 65-56 in the 2011 Puerto Rico Classic.
Northeastern and Ball State are also a part of the tournament, and Purdue does have Ball State on the regular season schedule in Mackey on November 10th.
