Kentucky Beats Indiana in All-Star Series

Eric Hunter had a solid night asa starter for the Indiana All-Star Series

The first games of the Indiana-Kentucky All-Star Series took place tonight at Bellarmine University in Louisville, and it was not a good night for the teams from the Boilermaker state.

Before the second game last year Indiana had won 17 in a row on the boy’s side and 24 of 25, but after tonight Kentucky has won two in a row. They also earned a sweep tonight with the girls win despite a couple of Purdue commits for Indiana.

Girls Game

Kentucky 92, Indiana 87

Purdue signee Kayana Taylor did not play for Indiana, but Cassidy Hardin had 7 points and 4 rebounds for Indiana in the loss. She finished the night 2 of 8 from the floor as Kentucky led 43-38 at halftime and earned the win with a dead even second half.

Boys Game

Kentucky 100, Indiana 89

Eric Hunter drew the start for Indiana and played well. He was 4 of 6 from the floor for 10 points and 4 rebounds, but Kentucky led 53-44 at the half and held on for the win. Indiana started with an all Big Ten lineup. Romeo Langford, Robert Phinisee, Damezi Anderson, Aaron Henry, and Hunter all started and will play for Big Ten schools next season. Langford led all Indiana players with 17.

The second half of the doubleheader is Saturday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
