Purdue Football Draft: Pick 30

Let’s keep building that defensive line.

NCAA Football: Ohio at Purdue Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

I have already drafted the best interior defensive lineman on the team, so let’s pair him up with someone with today’s pick.

Keiwan Jones - DT

I like Jones because he was pretty much forgotten by the previous regime, but has worked his way into the rotation with coach Brohm. In his first three years on campus he played in one game. this is despite having some pretty big deficiencies along the defensive line. He never really got a chance,t hen was passed over by younger guys.

Then came last season. He came in and played pretty well as a reserve before injuring his knee. With one season left he should at least provide depth, and might even start along side Lorenzo Neal. He brings pretty good size and versatility to the position, and he has put in his time. I really think he could be in line for a breakout season on the interior.
