66 Days Until Purdue Football: Alex Criddle

A defensive lineman is on tap for today’s countdown.

Today for the countdown, we have a defensive lineman that will be leaned on to provide some depth in the trenches.

Alex Criddle - Thomas Edison HS, Oklahoma

Defensive Tackle

6’3”, 300 Pounds

2018 Projection: Reserve at Defensive Tackle

Honestly, Criddle could be our day one starter. There is a lot of guess work to the defensive line for this year. That may be why we have such a heavy emphasis on it for the 2019 recruiting class.

In two years of playing, Criddle has totaled one tackle, but now, with being a junior there is an expectation that he will need to get on the field and contribute, or under classmen will pass him by. At 6’3”, 300 Pounds, Alex has a great frame to play interior defensive line.

Criddle’s biggest accomplishment was being academic all B1G. That is nothing to scoff at, as being a student athlete is very challenging. I look forward to seeing Alex make the jump to contributing this fall.
