Draft night is here. Purdue could have a player drafted for the third consecutive season if any of Vince Edwards, Dakota Mathias, or Isaac Haas get drafted. Of course, none of them are a 7’2” Bulgarian that once hit a 3-pointer, so that basically means they have no chance of going in the second round.
Still, they are decorated and accomplished four-year players that have a legitimate shot at a pro career. While seeing any of them go in the first round would be a big surprise, Vince has a strong chance at being a second round role player with the right team. Dakota has had great workouts according to all reports and could be a poor man’s Kyle Korver. Haas has great size and a wonderful offensive skillset as an old school center.
At worst, all three will get a summer league look somewhere. P.J. Thompson might even get a summer league look, though he seems more likely to be headed to Europe. At best, all three get their names called somewhere tonight as they end their Purdue journeys and begin lives as pros.
My HOT TAEK: The Pacers take either Vince or Dakota at the No. 53 spot.
