Heading into last season Purdue’s offensive line was in flux. We weren’t quite sure who would start, and this meant an influx of juCo players and grad transfers. One such player is today’s countdown player.
Ethan Smart - Sr.

2018 Projection: Reserve on the Offensive Line
Smart was brought in last season to help shore up the offensive line. He had a shot at starting, but Shane Evans and Dave Steinmetz ended up taking two of the five spots. That relegated Smart to a more reserve role, where he appeared in 5 of the 13 games. He also saw action on special teams.
We’re probably looking at more of that this season from Smart. The offensive line is a bit more set this season, but you can never have enough quality depth up front. Look for him to be one of the top reserve guards off the bench.
