Purdue Football Recruiting: Brooks Cormier Commits!

A 5* Punter?! Sure!

NCAA Football: Illinois at Purdue Sandra Dukes-USA TODAY Sports

Coach Brohm and Co. have strung together some nice verbals this weekend, the next one is a highly rated Punter.

Brooks Cormier, out of Tuscaloosa, Alabama (SUCK IT SABAN, YOU ARE STILL AFRAID), is rated as the 5th best punter in the class of 2019. Cormier is also rated as a 5* Punter/Kicker by Kohls Kicking.

At 6’5”, 215 Pounds, Cormier has the prototypical size you look in a punter. What really attracted him to to Purdue? Probably watching Schopper drop dimes on fake punts against that team down south!

All joking aside, this is a nice get by the staff. We needed a punter with Schopper heading into his senior year and more than likely, Cormier will come in and start from day one.

Here is the blurb on Kohls Kicking website on Brooks.

“Cormier has the prototypical size and frame to be an outstanding college punter. His athletic build and raw power make him a D1 recruit. His technical improvement has been impressive this spring. Cormier is someone with rare leg talent. His “A” ball might be the biggest in the 2019 class. Cormier was able to hit multiple 65 yard punts during the drill work period in May 2018 at the Southern Showcase Camp. His leg speed and overall upside are very rare. If he works at the technical aspects of punting, he will be a special player!”

He also plays TE for his high school, enjoy some highlights!
