Purdue Football Recruiting: Dave Monnot III Commits

Another offensive lineman is on board.

In just one year Jeff Brohm and his staff have transformed the offensive line from a weakness into a strength. Just a day after losing Peyton Truitt a new lineman is on board as the 8th commitment in the 2019 class:

Monnot is almost certainly a developmental lineman that will redshirt next season. He is a 2-star commit according to Rivals and and is a 3-star according to 247. He is listed at 6’5” 285 pounds, so he’ll definitely need a year in the weight room. He comes to us from Joliet Catholic in Illinois, the same school that gave us Mike Alstott a long time ago.

Here are his highlights:

Again, he is probably a developmental guy, but that is fine. Give him another year of high school and a year in the weight room to develop and he will be a fine addition. He definitely fits what Brohm wants in versatile, lean linemen that can play uptempo.
