After losing a plethora of defensive lineman, young defensive lineman will be asked to step up in a big way.
This is no different for Robert McWilliams, who after a redshirt season is looking to make an impact on the field this fall for Purdue.
Robert McWilliams III - Redshirt Freshman
South Miami, Florida - Coral Gables High School
6’4”, 225 Pounds
Defensive End or Rush End
2018 Projection: Rotational Defensive End
When McWilliams came to Purdue last year, he was a razor thin defensive lineman, at 6’4”, 200 Pounds. Now after bulking up 25 pounds in one year, he is looking to make an impact.
McWilliams is still a bit thin, but he is an absolute animal off of the line. He is one of the most explosive defensive lineman that we have on the team. This year, we are rather thin on the defensive line, McWilliams could find himself starting on Saturdays this fall if he has a great summer and team camp.
He will be asked to do a lot for us this season. He has huge upside and I think that his speed and athleticism are off of the charts. He will make an impact for us this fall.
Here are some of his high school highlights.
