We are now 97 days away from the start of the Purdue Football Season.
Today, we are highlighting walk-on defensive end, Conor Sweeney.
Conor Sweeney - Senior
Indianapolis, IN (Fork Union Military Academy)
6’4”, 250 pounds
Defensive End
2018 Projection: Deep Reserve at Defensive End
Conor is a walk-on as of last season. He is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, but he attended Fork Union Military Academy for High School in the state of Virginia.
Before that, he played at powerhouse school Cathedral in Indianapolis. Cathedral is simply the most successful program in Indiana state history. They once went on a run of five straight state championships. Sweeney played a big role in that. He was part of the first three of those teams.
Conor posted no stats this past season, but at 6’4”, 250 Pounds, he gives us a great practice body and depth at a position that absolutely needs depth. Sweeney may find his way on to some special teams as well.
