Purdue Football Draft: Pick 18

Let’s give David Blough someone to throw to.

Purdue has a couple of really good tight ends going into the 2018 season, so I want one. I am going to go with the guy that is a physical mismatch for almost anyone covering him. Also, Kyle already took the other one.

Brycen Hopkins - TE

Although I like Cole Herdman, Hopkins is a tougher matchup. He already has NFL size at 6’5” 240 pounds. His production rate is ridiculously high too. In 2016 he had only 10 receptions, but they went for 183 yards and 4 TDs. Last season he had 34 receptions for 349 yards and 3 more scores.

That comes out to a touchdown for just over every 6 catches he has. I like that he is a goal line target, but he can also punish teams by roving over the middle of the field. His dad was a long time NFL offensive lineman for the Tennessee Titans, only adding to the chances he is picked up by a team after next season.
