Purdue Football Draft: Pick 17

Finally, a Tight End

NCAA Football: Louisville vs Purdue Jamie Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

Purdue has a pair of Tight Ends that are both NFL caliber type guys. Generally speaking, they put up very similar stats last year, both around 300 yards receiving, 20 receptions, etc.

It is quite a luxury we have, then you throw in the youngster, Darius Pittman who is another stud.

For my pick, I went wit the older guy.

Cole Herdman - TE

Herdman saw an uptick in production this past season with a competent offense. While with the other guy, we didn’t use him correctly. Surprise right?

Herdman has the body of a NFL tight End, at 6’5”, 245 Pounds, he could see himself playing on Sundays. It really was a coin flip between Herdman or Hopkins. Herdman is probably the better all around tight end, but Hopkins is the better receiver.
