Purdue Football Draft: Ninth Pick

Back to the trenches we go.

NCAA Football: Purdue at Wisconsin Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

Outside of the starting five offensive lineman, Travis and I really have no clue who will get PT. So, I drafted a lineman that is a surefire starter.

Matt McCann. Since McCann has been on campus, he has played both tackle and guard. I believe he is better suited for interior offensive line, as he is a mauler and not really a finesse type guy you want at tackle.

For me, this brings versatility to my team. It allows me to play him at either spot. Similar to what Travis said about Shane Evans, as he could play guard or center for him.

McCann is coming back from a successful sophomore campaign. The 6’6”, 315 Pound McCann will be a rare three year starter on the offensive line this upcoming season.

we have continued to draft early and often on both offensive and defensive linemen. Will the trend continue?
