Boilers in the NFL: 2018 NFL Draft

Where did the former Boilermakers go?

The NFL Draft has came and gone.

Only one Boilermaker was selected in this years NFL Draft, making it 21 straight years of someone being drafted from our great university.

This season, Ja’Whaun Bentley was drafted in the 5th round to the New England Patriots. While I hate the team he was drafted too, I love him, so I only wish the best for him.

Eddy Wilson, who left school early and received an invite to the NFL Combine, went undrafted. Then shortly after the draft, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks.

Dave Steinmetz, a man that only had one season at Purdue, went undrafted as well - but the giant offensive tackle was signed by the Miami Dolphins.

Danny Ezechukwu was signed to the Super Bowl Champions, the Eagles.

T.J. McCollum was signed to the nearby Chicago Bears after spending only one season in West Lafayette.

Another former Boilermaker, Anthony Mahoungou was also picked up by the Eagles.

Austin Larkin signed a deal with the Cowboys yesterday afternoon.

I am still waiting to hear if Da’Wan Hunte and Gelen Robinson get a contract anywhere.

This is a friendly reminder that around 25% of the NFL is rostered with players who went undrafted. All of these men have a legit shot of making a NFL Roster for this coming fall.

Best of luck to all of our former Boilermakers, we will be watching you!
