The inaugural 3x3U National Championship is in the books and our own Vincent Edwards (along with Robert Johnson, Jae’Sean Tate, and Nate Mason) made some phat cash in it. They won all three pool play games, their quarterfinal, and their semifinal to split $5,000 before facing the Big West in the final. With another $50,000 on the line they dominated the conference that gave us Cal State Fullerton. That allowed Vince to get a small measure of revenge for Fullerton injuring Isaac Haas and costing us a chance at a national title.
Vince had a big game in the semifinal win over the SWAC, and got things started with a dunk in the final. Johnson hit a deep three for the 21-13 win. The Big Ten clearly rolled in the final after a few close pool play games.
All four Big Ten players will split a grand total of $55,000, so Vince officially has made $13,750 as a professional basketball player.
