The West Award is given to the nation’s top shooting guard, and last season Caleb Swanigan was finalist for the Karl Malone Award for he nation’s best power forward. He was robbed of it, too.
Carsen has been on fire for the past month or so and people are taking notice. in such a guard driven tournament he can be a huge difference maker for Purdue to go far. He is averaging north of 20 points per game over his last 10 games and as we mentioned yesterday, needs only 12 more points for 1,000 in his career.
His All-America honor from the Sporting News also qualifies him to have his banner int he rafters next season in Mackey Arena.
Edwards is joined on the list by junior Jerome Robinson (Boston College), senior Marcus Foster (Creighton), senior Grayson Allen (Duke) and senior Kendrick Nunn (Oakland).
