Vegas no longer believes in Purdue as much after Isaac Haas got hurt. The latest odds to reach the Final Four and win the national title are out according to Bovada. Purdue started the tourney with 12/1 odds to win it all, which was fifth best. We were also No. 2 to win the East Region at 11/4.
Now that we are at the Sweet 16 though, Purdue has dropped to 16/1 to win it all and is 7th best:
2018 NCAA Championship - Odds to Win
Duke 13/4
Villanova 9/2
Gonzaga 7/1
Kentucky 7/1
Michigan 8/1
Kansas 17/2
Purdue 16/1
West Virginia 16/1
Texas Tech 22/1
Clemson 25/1
Nevada 25/1
Texas A&M 25/1
Kansas State 28/1
Florida State 40/1
Loyola Chicago 50/1
Syracuse 66/1
That is not surprising when Isaac Haas does tend to be good at this basketball thing and Villanova is still in our region. What’s interesting is they do like us more than Texas Tech.
When it comes to winning the East Villanova is still even money:
Odds to Win the East Region
Villanova 1/1
West Virginia 15/4
Purdue 4/1
Texas Tech 9/2
Finally, here are the complete Sweet 16 game lines, where Purdue is a narrow early favorite over Texas Tech:
