It is day 2 of the Big Ten Tournament and for many, it feels like the tournament as a whole gets going today. Sure, yesterday had Iowa beating Illinois and Rutgers beating Minnesota, but these new Wednesday games are virtually meaningless. No team that has had to play on Wednesday has made the semifinals yet and only a couple have even survived until Friday. Losing Illinois and Minnesota at this stage is no huge loss, either. Illinois struggled all year and Minnesota completed the stunning fall from “potential top four seed” in early December to “Won’t even make the NIT”.
Today we have four games, all on Big Ten Network:
Maryland vs. Wisconsin - Noon
Michigan vs. Iowa - 2:30pm
Penn State vs, Northwestern - 6:30pm
Rutgers vs. Indiana - 9pm
Let’s make this your home for the day. it is not a particularly interesting slate of games, but at least we will find out tomorrow’s opponent.
