The 2018 recruiting class is officially in the books. I will be breaking it down position by position over the next few days, explaining who we got at what spot.
First up, is a kid that is already on campus, as he was a mid year enrolee.
Quarterback:
Jack Plummer
6’5”, 220 Pounds, 3*
Offers: Purdue, Arizona, Colorado State, South Carolina, Wyoming, Oregon State, Cincinnati
Coach Brohm never hid his emotions on Jack Plummer. He stated over and over again that this was their number one quarterback prospect for 2018. Jack has a big time arm and can even move a little bit.
He reminds me a lot of Elijah Sindelar in stature and how they both came to Purdue with a cannon of an arm.
Lucky for Jack, with he enrolling mid year, he will be getting a lot of the first team reps in the spring with Nick Sipe. Elijah Sindelar will be recovering from an ACL tear and and David Blough still recovering from his ankle surgery.
Jack is a confident kid, he slings the ball all over and more than likely - he will be our starting quarterback during his Purdue career at some point. I do not think it will be this coming season, as it appears as if Elijah Sindelar locked that up late in the season.
Jack was getting a push from a lot of Pac-12 schools during his senior year, including UCLA, USC, CAL, Arizona and Arizona State. He stayed true to his Purdue verbal and he is here now.
Welcome to Purdue, Jack!
