With Evander Craft in limbo since the fall (he just signed with Toledo today), Coach Brohm and Co. had their eyes on another linebacker.
Enter Jack Smith, a lengthy outside backer from the heart of Florida. Jack will be coming north from Lakeland, Florida. Jack Smith chose Purdue over Cincinnati and Western Kentucky.
This is a great late get for our Boilermakers. Linebacker was a position where we needed more than just one commit, Jack joins Jaylan Alexander in the 2018 class. This is a vital class as we lose 3 linebackers to graduation that started for us.
In the Journal and Courier article, Jack’s coach said if he was playing at a heavier weight, he would probably be staying in state to one of the state’s 3 power programs.
I cannot emphasize enough how great of a late get this is. Jack will have a great career with us in West Lafayette. Boiler Up.
