Purdue has two commitments and several targets active in this year’s state tournament. 2018 signee Eric Hunter is attempting to win a second straight state championship with Indianapolis Tindley in Class 1A. 2019 Commit Isaiah Thompson, the younger brother of P.J. Thompson, plays for Class 4A No. 7 Zionsville. The Eagles have not won a sectional since 1995, but have a very good chance. They will likely have to get past two-time sectional champ McCutcheon led by IU signee Robert Phinisee.
Ben Davis in Class 4A, Indianapolis Crispus Attucks in Class 3A, Frankton in Class 2A, and Indianapolis Tindley in Class 1A are the defending champions. Purdue also has its eye on the following players.
Mason Gillis - New Castle - Class 3A
Trayce Jackson-Davis - Center Grove - Class 4A
Keion Brooks - Fort Wayne North - Class 4A
Mabor Majak - Hamilton Southeastern - Class 4A
Trey Galloway - Culver Academy - Class 3A
Armaan Franklin - Cathedral - Class 4A (already eliminated)
