Purdue Basketball: Caleb “Biggie” Swanigan Comes Back to Purdue

BIGGIE IS BACK, BABY!

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-Midwest Regional-Purdue vs Kansas Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

Biggie is back in Mackey Arena tonight for Purdue’s matchup versus Penn State.

Too bad he can’t suit up and play power forward for us tonight with the recent news of Vincent Edwards being ruled out with an ankle injury.

Swanigan, a first round pick of the Portland Trail Blazers is being honored for his B1G Player of the Year Trophy from this past year. As well as being recognized as an All-American, as his banner is already hanging up in the Mackey Arena rafters.

Biggie has been missed this year, while it has been a great season, we really miss his rebounding and constant 100% energy - something we have lacked in the past few games.

None the less, Caleb is home for the evening with the NBA All-Star weekend occurring.

Biggie has had a roller coaster of a ride for the start of his NBA playing career, but he could see good fortune coming. He started the season with getting a decent amount if playing time, but he was eventually sent down to the G-League to develop his game a bit.

Right before the all star break, Biggie was called back up. A former Indiana Hoosier and another Power Forward on the roster, Noah Vonleh had been traded to the Bulls.

This could be a great chance for Caleb to earn some of his minutes back with the front court losing a role player.

Having Biggie in the building will only amp this crowd up even more. Welcome home, Caleb. We have missed you.
