Music City Bowl: Auburn by the Numbers

Lets take a look at some numbers from the 2018 Auburn Tigers.

Auburn Record: 7-5

Points Per Game: 28.2 (72nd)

Points Allowed Per Game; 19.6 (18th)

Passing:

Jarrett Stidham - 209/348 (60%), 2421 Yards, 13 Touchdowns, 4 Interceptions

Former Baylor Quarterback before the whole Art Briles deal. Stidham went JuCo for a season, where he dominated. He was the top rated JuCo prospect coming out. Since he got to Auburn he hasn’t really lived up to what people thought he would be. He only has 13 touchdowns this year, which isn’t anything special.

Rushing:

JaTarvious Whitlow - 143 Carries, 777 Yards, 4 Touchdowns

Kam Martin - 92 Carries, 400 Yards, 1 Touchdown

Whitlow is a freshman that leads the Tiger backfield, averaging right around 5 yards per carry, he has done a nice job for his first year. He is a bigger back, at about 6’, 220 Pounds. He reminds me a lot of the IU running back, where he is thick, but can also break some runs off if we let him.

Receiving:

Ryan Davis - 64 Catches, 523 Yards

Darius Slayton - 32 Catches, 510 Yards, 2 Touchdowns

Seth Williams - 24 Catches, 479 Yards, 5 Touchdowns

Slayton and Williams are both deep ball threats, whereas Davis is more of an underneath type of wide receiver. Slayton and Williams can take the top off of the defense at any given time. A fifth of Williams catches have been touchdowns.

Defense:

Deshaun Davis - 103 Tackles

Daniel Thomas - 72 Tackles

Darrell Williams - 71 Tackles

Davis is a future NFL linebacker. He is great down hill, but he can also run sideline to sideline making plays all over the field.

NFL Prospects:

Jarrett Stidham - Quarterback

Prince Tega-Wanohogo - Offensive Tackle

Darius Slayton - Wide Receiver

Derrick Brown - Defensive Tackle

Deshaun Davis - Linebacker
