Name: Dontay Hunter
Hometown: Westerville, Ohio - Westerville High School
Position & Size: Defensive End, 6’5”, 240 Pounds
Ranking: 3*
Offers: Georgia, IU, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Pitt, Tennessee, Virginia
Impact: I won’t hide it. Hunter is my favorite commit for the 2019 class.
I think he can play right away, just like Karlaftis.
Hunter is big, strong, explosive and ready for the Big Ten. Being rated as 3* is a disservice to him, as he plays like a 5*. There is a reason why Georgia came sniffing.
He runs a sub 4.7 forty, has a 35 inch vertical and his shuttle time is under 4 seconds.
Yea, those are better than 3* numbers. He does a great job of closing down off of the edge and he can rush from a stand up end spot or have his hand in the dirt. Either way, he is effective.
I do not expect him to redshirt, I think he will be in the rotation rather quickly. Like I said, Hunter is easily my favorite commit for the 2019 class.
