Purdue Basketball Recruiting: Brandon Newman Signs

Shades of E’Twaun Moore?

The third and final NLI has been received, as Purdue has officially inked its highest rated recruit of the three expected to sign today:

Brandon Newman is a great shooter who reminds me a bit of E’Twaun Moore, thus the picture. Newman is a 6’4” 180 pound shooting guard from Valparaiso. Moore is 6’4” and 191 pounds in the NBA. Newman is a 4-star recruit according to ESPN, a 4-star and No. 75 overall according to Rivals, and a 4-star and 118th overall according to 247.

Last season he helped Valparaiso to a 20-6 record and a sectional title. He did so while averaging 20.9 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. He is a bit of a pure scorer that can fill it up, but he is also a solid shooter. According to his MaxPreps stats he shot 43% from three.

I will have more of a detailed report on him later, as I plan on covering his game on December 22nd when Valparaiso plays Isaiah Thompson and Zionsville in a shootout at Indianapolis Manual.

Welcome to the family, Brandon!
