Brandon Newman is a great shooter who reminds me a bit of E’Twaun Moore, thus the picture. Newman is a 6’4” 180 pound shooting guard from Valparaiso. Moore is 6’4” and 191 pounds in the NBA. Newman is a 4-star recruit according to ESPN, a 4-star and No. 75 overall according to Rivals, and a 4-star and 118th overall according to 247.
Last season he helped Valparaiso to a 20-6 record and a sectional title. He did so while averaging 20.9 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. He is a bit of a pure scorer that can fill it up, but he is also a solid shooter. According to his MaxPreps stats he shot 43% from three.
I will have more of a detailed report on him later, as I plan on covering his game on December 22nd when Valparaiso plays Isaiah Thompson and Zionsville in a shootout at Indianapolis Manual.
Welcome to the family, Brandon!
