According J.J. Weaver’s Instagram, we are out of the running for him to become a Boilermaker. He announced yesterday that he would make a decision on November 30th, but then went to Instagram to announce his top 3 - a top 3 without Purdue.

Weaver, who Purdue has been after for a long time, once seemed like a Purdue lock. The 4 Star prospect decided otherwise, after toting a Purdue Hat and Shirt at some camps this summer.
I am not sure what played into the decision of taking us out of the running, as I believe he may have been coming up for another unofficial visit soon. Maybe, it was who Purdue has already recruited to the defensive line.
For 2019, Purdue already has verbals from the following defensive linemen: George Karlaftis, Dontay Hunter, Sulaiman Kpaka and Steven Faucheux. The first three being defensive ends, Karlaftis is ranked higher than Weaver and the other two, in my opinion are just as good as Weaver is.
There also is the fact that RS Freshman Giovanni Reviere has been playing well for our Boilermakers this season and could potentially be a starter in front of him next year, while George plays on the other side of the line.
While this loss hurts, it isn’t the end of the world, as this class is already loaded on the defensive line and the 2018 class also had a large defensive line group come in. Now, we need to be on the look out for the announcements of David Bell, Wandale Robinson and Milton Wright.
