Following the incredible victory over Ohio State on Saturday, 49-20 by the way, the now world famous Tyler Trent will have a lifelong dream realized tonight as he will appear alongside Scott Van Pelt on SportsCenter. SVP’s version of SportsCenter airs at Midnight on ESPN so if you’re like me and will be asleep by then make sure to set your DVR.
This all seems to have been set-up behind the scenes but culminated in a tweet that will make your heart smile.
Traded notes with @theTylerTrent after the Purdue game. He said it would fulfill a dream if we could work together. I said....so, let’s work together. Tyler will be on with me tomorrow night.

SVP, for those unaware, is a Maryland grad who is often seen on the sidelines of Terps basketball games. He’s also one of the few remaining big stars on ESPN from the early 2000s heyday of the sports empire. SVP is, in my opinion, one of the best anchors the network has and you can see it in his versatility as they allow him to do basically whatever he wants.
It’s been quite heartening to see members of the sports world, including journalists, reach out to Tyler Trent and make it known that he’s making a difference. That’s really any of us can ask for. Tonight Tyler gets another shot to show the world what a Boilermaker really is. I look forward to seeing what he has to say. I also want to know his prediction for the Michigan State game because I’ve got my own pick to make and I don’t want to go against him.
