Tomorrow is Big Ten Basketball Media days and Paul banks will be filling in for us on the ground in Chicago. In advance of that, the preseaosn awards nominees are coming out. As expected, Carsen Edwards was named the Preseason Player of the Year in the conference.

Only four players have gone from preseason to postseason POTY: Alando Tucker, Frank Kaminsky, Devin Harris, and Brian Cook. This was pretty much a no-brainer since Carsen is on the short list for National POTY honors. He was also on the all-Big Ten team with Ethan Happ, James Palmer Jr., Cassisu Winston, and Juwan Morgan. Romeo Langford was picked as Freshman of the Year.

As far as the team itself, the media is not so high on the Boilers. Purdue was picked to finish 5th in the league per an unofficial media poll.

Michigan State and Michigan are solid choices for the top two. Indiana id going to be young, but Romeo Langford and Juwan morgan is a very good combo. Nebraska is a surprise, but okay.

As usual, nothing will be easy in the league. Purdue stumbled last year at an awful Wisconsin team and it cost us a Big Ten title. Maryland, Ohio State, Minnesota, and Iowa will always be tough at home, too.
