Purdue Basketball Recruiting: Tyger Campbell Releases His Top 4

We are in good shape here.

NCAA Basketball: Purdue at Iowa Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

Today, a Purdue target announced his top four in the recruiting process.

As you can see, we made the final four along with DePaul, UCLA and Maryland.

As for what I know, I know about as much as you - nothing. You would have to think we are looking pretty good right now though. There is a spot for some immediate playing time either as a starter or first back up guard coming off the bench.

Earlier this month, I wrote an article on how Tyger Campbell would make this recruiting class from good to great.

That still holds true. If we land Tyger, this could be considered Painter’s best recruiting class since he has been our head basketball coach. There are a plethora of recruiting sites, but they all have our three currently committed guys as 3 or 4 star players. Most being 4 stars. As I have said many times, I am not huge on rankings, as I believe it is more of a fit type of thing - but many see this as important.

Tyger is a guy that could come in and start right away. He is a true floor general and sees passing lanes just as good if not better than any guy CMP has recruited to date.

I do not know when Tyger is committing, but I am hoping it is sooner rather than later.

According to 247 Sports and our comments section, he will be making his decision February 1st - This Thursday.
