Carsen Edwards Named Big Ten Player of the Week

A big week for the sophomore brings home a league honor.

Carsen Edwards was a joy to watch last week. Against Wisconsin he had 21 points, 3 assists, and 5 steals as the Boilers blew out the Badgers in West Lafayette. Over the weekend he also dominated Iowa to the tune of 22 points, 8 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals. He finished the week 17 of 31 from the floor and an impressive 9 of 14 from three. Those are good numbers.

Big Ten Player of the Week numbers.

Carsen had to share te honor with James Palmer Jr. of Nebraska, but it is his first Player of the Week award. He also likes this week, as one year ago he was named Freshman of the Week. It is Purdue’s second Player of the Week Award, as Isaac Haas won one back in December.

Surprisingly, those are the only two Player of the Week awards for Purdue, but we’ll just have to wait for the season ending honors later on.
