According to Rivals, we are waiting on three guys to sign this February.
As of now, we still have Verbals from Willie Lane, Evander Craft and Rondale Moore.
I believe that Rondale Moore is a lock to sign with us. As he committed on national television in the Army All-American Bowl Game for High School Seniors.
But what about the other two?
Evander Craft announced in December that he was looking at other options, but he was staying a verbal commit. He just picked up another offer from Ball State. Craft is a JuCo transfer out of Illinois. During his last season, Craft suffered a severe knee injury, which the Purdue coaches seemed alarmed about, with good reason. As they further evaluated him they still have not pulled his offer. Only he knows if he will sign or not in a few weeks.
The other, Willie Lane, is a defensive end out of Florida. The reasons are unknown to why he did not sign in December, but he remains the other questionable verbal. Willie is an explosive defensive end that would compete. But, we will see in a few weeks if he will sign or not.
Overall, we are sitting at 22 signed commits for 2018. With Rondale Moore being our 23rd. The other two guys are still to be decided if they will sign or not. I think we should be very happy with Coach Brohm’s first class. It is ranked 43rd in the nation, which is the highest ranking we have had in about 10 years if I remember correctly.
Coach Brohm has brought in players that will have an immediate impact and will make huge contributions throughout their career. I am looking forward to seeing this group grow over the next four years and take us to a B1G Championship.
