The new rankings are out and Purdue continues its trip up the rankings. In the KenPom Purdue is very well regarded. We’re currently ranked 3rd nationally out of 351 teams, trailing only Villanova and Michigan State. In the AP Poll our moves are slower. This week we’re 13th.

  1. Michigan State (43) 1,600
  2. Duke (21) 1,556
  3. Villanova (1) 1,444
  4. Arizona State 1,336
  5. Xavier 1,325
  6. West Virginia 1,304
  7. Oklahoma 1,160
  8. Virginia 1,048
  9. Wichita State 1,026
  10. Kansas 963
  11. Texas A&M 894
  12. North Carolina 890
  13. Purdue 883
  14. Arizona 832
  15. Miami (FL) 782
  16. TCU 760
  17. Kentucky 742
  18. Texas Tech 483
  19. Gonzaga 410
  20. Cincinnati 410
  21. Seton Hall 353
  22. Arkansas 254
  23. Tennessee 198
  24. Florida State 119
  25. Clemson 104

Butler is just outside the top 25 with 23 votes after knocking off previous No. 1 Villanova. I also tend to think that Texas A&M, Xavier, Virginia, Wichita State, and West Virginia are hilariously overrated, but we shall see.

The coaches poll will be out later.
