Blessed to receive an offer from Purdue university!! #Boilerup pic.twitter.com/r6F40gcXAQ
— Isaiah Thompson (@Ithompson11) September 27, 2017
While most of college basketball sits with the Sword of Damocles hanging above their heads, Matt Painter and Purdue are on the road offering quality basketball players and excellent opportunity at a free education from a top University.
Purdue’s offer to Isaiah Thompson has been long anticipated, and honestly, rather long in actually materializing. Isaiah is an electric scorer from the point guard position, is currently ranked as a composite 3*(88) player by 247 sports and the is considered the 7th best player in Indiana in the class of 2019. Thompson, the Zionsville product, has the quicks to get to the basket and possesses deep range.
While his basketball ability is unquestioned, size is the only thing keeping Thompson from blowing up into a national level recruit. Thompson is listed a 6’0, 165 pounds, but may not be quite that tall. That size (or lack thereof), however, did not dissuade Matt Painter from extending an offer, and you’ve got to think Purdue is the odds on favorite at this point.
Adding another scoring option in the backcourt for the 2019 class is a top priority for Painter, and Thompson more than fits the bill.
Note: This video is really old
Note: Full game from Isaiah’s Sophomore year
Note: Full Game Junior Year
Note: Yes, I know the easy story is Isaiah Thompson is P.J.’s little brother, but Isaiah is his own man, and earned this offer on his own merits. Let’s give him the shine he deserves.
