Editor’s Note: This article was scheduled before we learned of Parker’s knee injury and did not update the article in time. He has been ruled out for the rest of the season
A year ago today’s player was brought in as a JuCo transfer to help in the secondary. Now he enters his final season with one last chance to make an impression.

2017 Projection: Possible safety at safety Likely out with injury*
Purdue needed safety help last year, so Parker was brought in as a solution. Ultimately, it did not work out. Leroy Clark played most of the season as an established senior and Navon Mosley emerged as a true freshman in the other spot. That limited the amount of time that Parker was able to see the field. He still played in all 12 games with 35 tackles, 3 for loss, and a 50 yard interception return against Northwestern.
That puts him up in the air coming into this season. He is in a crowded field to play more this year, but he definitely has a shot.
