The freshman linebacker from Florida could play immediately.

NCAA Football: Indiana State at Purdue Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Today we have another freshman linebacker that was a late 2017 commitment, but he was on board for coach Brohm.

Tobias Larry – Fr.

Lakeland, FL (Kathleen HS)

6’1”, 210 pounds

Linebacker

2017 Projection: Likely redshirt

A lot of teams were going after Tobias Larry, who was one of the final signings in the 2017 class. Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, and South Florida were all interested in his services, but Brohm was able to land him on signing day. He had originally committed to Florida International down in Miami, but flipped right before signing day.

Larry is a versatile linebacker that can play all there spots. That could get him to the field this year just to build depth and experience for next season, when Purdue loses three senior linebackers. Here are his highlights:

Look for Larry to be a definite contributor in 2018, but don’t be surprised if he makes the field somewhere as a true freshman this year.
