In last night’s preseason game, former Purdue player and alum, Raheem Mostert, had an 87-yard touchdown for the San Francisco 49ers.
Since he went undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft, Mostert has bounced around the league, starting with the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad, and playing for the Dolphins, Ravens, Browns, Bears, and now 49ers. He was also on the Jets’ practice squad in 2016.
Normally, we would do these sort of posts as a fan shot. But as a Packers fan and owner, I felt inclined to make this an article since it was against the Vikings. Even then, I couldn’t justify it, until I remembered something:
Recently fired Purdue head coach, Darrel Hazell, is currently on the Minnesota Vikings’ coaching staff as a wide receiver coach. So Hazell just watched his former player make a spectacular touchdown in front of him.
Oh yeah, Mostert had another touchdown in the 4th quarter too:
It was a race to the pylon and @RMos_8Ball wasn’t going to be beat. #SFvsMIN pic.twitter.com/EXEfEP4s4O

(The 49ers did end up blowing the lead and lost 32-31, but it is preseason afterall.)
